Paved Driving
1.5 mile paved driving course with various turns and a quarter-mile straightaway segment where students can practice a variety of maneuvers, including evasive driving, defensive driving, tactical vehicle intervention, and pursuit driving;
Off-Road Driving
Over 1.5-mile plus off-road track (expandable configuration) all-terrain course where students can practice driving familiarization and techniques such as surface transition, weight distribution and transfer in challenging terrain, brake/throttle modulation, arrival/departure angles, and the use of recovery gear in both self-recovery situations and in assisting another vehicle from a stuck or disabled position.
The driving skid pad area at the Farm at Eagle Ridge is capable of being inundated with water and utilizes the innovative computer-controlled Kick Plate CARSP21 technology from Dorninger Hytronics to simulate a hydroplaning condition that familiarizes students with skidding conditions and vehicle control in different speed ranges. During skid trainings the student learns impressively the limits of the car on wet, icy or oil-stained roads. This technology provides easy user-friendly operation and reliable all-season training with heating provided in the foundation pit and flood sensors.
